The family she grew up with was at home in Buenos Aires from the time she was just six until they moved to Victoria, London. According to Taylor-Joy the relocation was difficult and she did not want to study English with the intention of moving back to Argentina. Hill House was the new school she had to attend after she left Northlands. Then, she was enrolled at Queen's Gate School to study ballet and act in the school's productions. In the year she turned 16 she quit school in order to follow a full-time career path in acting. Taylor-Joy knew from the beginning that she wanted to be an actress.
